The heartbeat behind the November 2012 Playlist for The Belief Project…

 We are after the REAL PRESENCE. There is nothing we need more and nothing that satisfies like He does. He is not a genie to be called upon when I need Him to do something for me. He is a lover that needs nothing from me but loves it when I come honestly and genuinely before Him to offer my love, thanksgiving, and adoration to Him. “Fill Me Up (reprise)  is a simple instrumentation that I have been using straight out of the chute in the morning. Few words, it stirs my heart, reminds me of the absolute necessity of living a hungry lifestyle, and positions me to receive from Him before I do anything else in my day.

How I Love Your Ways and What Can I Bring have connected to my heart maybe more than any other songs I’ve found recently. Simple declarations of His goodness – “”How I love your ways…” is a line that has been in my head for years. It says exactly what my heart longs to sing.

With Everything is one of those songs that I often don’t “feel “ like singing. Very often it doesn’t feel true of my heart. All the more reason to sing it over and over and over!!!

“Our King Has Come” – My favorite new Christmas song – love the bridge “For the Lord has done great things, Oh how my soul will sing!” What a declaration for Christmas!!!

Songs from Gungor’s album – A Creation Liturgy (Live) – This entire album is spectacular. I actually feel like I am experiencing God creating it all (and re-creating me!) as I listen to it. These songs make me want to shout along and get my feet moving!!!

Dancing Shoes –As a result of my job description these days my life with Jesus has been a public affair. This is the song He has used to take me away to private places with Him. Just the two of us. Feel free to steal this strategy!

Stories –  This song is EPIC!!! I like to ask the Holy Spirit to highlight different gospel stories or even the images he sings about in this song. Fun adventures waiting to be had!

“We Come,” “Heaven is Here,” and “Blessed are Those” are simple, repetitive songs that contain awesome declarations of truth about who God is and who we are. I’ve loved singing these over and over — I feel the truths penetrating my heart!

I like to listen to “Finish What You Started,” “Great Things,” and “There’s a Joy” back to back to back. The theme of God being faithful and the truth that He WILL “finish what He started,” has been something that I’ve really needed to sing and remind of myself of lately.

“Called Me Higher” from All Sons and Daughters has been the first song I listen to each morning over the past 2 weeks. It sings beautifully of the choice I have to stay safe and comfortable where I am or follow Jesus into the mysterious adventure He has for me. He has called me higher, He has called me deeper – this song is an opportunity to say “YES” to that each morning!

“Walk,” and “Oh! Great is Our God,” Have a fun fresh feel that just seemed right and really have connected to my heart in the past few weeks. I love the gang choir style on “Oh! Great is Our God!” It reminds that I am part of a FESTIVE THRONG!

The four Bethel Live songs off For the Sake of the World are slam dunks! Bethel did it again, the whole album is worth the purchase – just listen through and see what you like if you don’t want to buy the whole thing — SOOO GOOD!
