The heartbeat behind the September/October set:
You’ll notice that this playlist is called September/October and it is mid November. Oops. Sorry for allowing so much time to pass before posting another playlist…alas, at long last, here is what I have been using in my own times of worship recently.
There has been a TON of good music released in the last 3 months (much of which we call your attention to in some way here on the Belief Project website), some of which has made it into my morning times (more focused and intentional times) and others are part of the arsenal that I have playing nearly at all times while I am working/driving/etc.
As I look at the past few months I see that I have been using basically 3 different worship sets during my morning times. Each one kind of has its own feel, and takes me a different place with God. It has been a pretty busy, stressful, and lonely season so it has been important for me to have some variety and be able to go to different set lists on different days depending on what I was feeling and/or sensing from God. Here are the three – each with a brief description.
Joyful, Joyful – Laura Hackett and Cory Asbury – Joy (Live)
This One Thing – Will Mathews – Hope’s Anthem
I Am Free – Will Mathews – Hope’s Anthem
Water Need – Michael Ketterer – Love / War / Solar System
Actually, “Joyful, Joyful” has been in my morning mix more days than not – that synthesizer part kills me every time! I’ve said it before, and God keeps saying it to me – “try to focus on your disappointment, shame, loneliness, etc. when you’re getting your boogey on! NOT POSSIBLE!” So I boogey, more than I ever have before.
Heaven – Daniel Bashta – The Sounds of Daniel Bashta
Awakening – Daniel Bashta – The Sounds of Daniel Bashta
Potter’s Wheel – Daniel Bashta – The Sounds of Daniel Bashta
Like a Lion – Daniel Bashta – The Sounds of Daniel Bashta
Pursuit – Daniel Bashta – The Sounds of Daniel Bashta
It’s Happening – Daniel Bashta – The Sounds of Daniel Bashta
Daniel Bashta’s stuff is so fresh, I believe it really has a unique anointing on it. This music is full of great cries to God, great declarations, and great truth and joy. His whole CD is so good. I picked the ones that have stood out and been part of my mornings consistently, but I recommend picking through all of his stuff.
With the King – UPB/Iris Found
Never Giving Up – Jonathon David Helser (Not included on iTunes list because it is album only!)
God of the Angel Armies – Jonathon David Helser – Walk Through The Walls
Some amazing, lengthy, soaking and dancing tunes here. Actually JDH’s stuff is older but God has recently brought it back into the mix. I encourage you to sit/pace/dance with the two JDH tunes and allow the Holy Spirit to take you on a journey with the Father. In both songs, when Melissa Helser (Jonathon’s wife) begins to sing towards the end of each song, there is an incredible atmosphere shift that is more tangible than any other song I have heard. It changes me and lifts me up every single time. I can listen to her laugh in “Never Giving Up,” and sing “thank you, thank you, thank you,” in “God of the Angel Armies” over and over. The Holy Spirit is on it for sure!

I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT SOMEONE SAW A FLYER IN A STARBUCKS HERE IN ST PETE THAT YOU ALL WERE GOING TO BE PERFORMING AROUND HERE. IS THAT TRUE? IF SO, WHERE?
